Chosen Action 2Promoting elements of the heritage concerned Description of the activity: The parties shall disseminate information concerning the underwater cultural heritage both to the general public and the cultural operators. The aim is to highlight and safeguard the different elements of the common European underwater cultural heritage in a structured and long-lasting way. The project aims to show the elements of underwater and maritime heritage in a wider context. Objectives: To widen the knowledge on the common European underwater cultural heritage. To publish one popular and one scientific publication about the meaning of underwater cultural heritage. To disseminate information both locally and worldwide (through the Internet). The target group: The people of Europe, cultural operators. Strong emphasis is put on young and socially disadvantaged people. An indicative timetable: Throughout the project (1 July 2001 - 30 June 2004). The expected results: General public and cultural operators become more aware about the value of the common European underwater cultural heritage. General public is willing to take part in safeguarding underwater cultural heritage. To publish one popular and one scientific publication about the meaning of underwater cultural heritage. To disseminate information both locally and worldwide (through the Internet). |
